The Team at Perrys Accountants in The City

Stewart Pope
I joined Perrys in March 1988 and became a partner in 1989 at the age of 26 taking over as CEO in April 2005 on the retirement of Mike Perry. I have enjoyed playing many sports representing my school at rowing, football, basketball, cricket and rugby moving on to play rugby for Canterbury and Askeans and two representative games for Kent. I remain a member at Canterbury and restrict my involvement now to supporting the local club and following England whenever possible. I now play golf sporadically and enjoy fishing when I can. And much to the amusement of those who know me, I now have one of the best collections of cased fish in the country (which shows no signs of reducing – much to the disappointment of my long suffering wife Marian!).

Allan Taylor
Having joined the company in the late nineties, I have worked my way up the ranks over the years and have loved working in London since 2000. I have been based at our City office since 2004 where I continue to work with a wide range of clients who I have the pleasure to act for.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially my 3 nieces who keep me on my toes! I also have a love for water so enjoy the peace and exercise of swimming regularly. My other passion is animals and I support many charities working for the protection and to improve the standards of animal welfare and abuse across the globe.

Alex Skinner
I have worked for Perrys for nearly 10 years. After graduating from Canterbury Christchurch University with a 2.1 in Business Studies & Marketing, I decided to embark in a career in accountancy and have never looked back!
I first started as a raw junior working in the Wrotham branch and have progressed to my current position as manager of the City office.
I have recently become a proud Dad, with my wife giving birth to our beautiful baby daughter.
I am a very keen sports fan particularly in snooker, pool and football where my loyalties lie with the mighty Spurs F.C.
I actively play in a local 5 a side football team and pool league in my spare time.
I have also taken part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme achieving Gold award standard. The presentation was held at St James Palace where I got to meet the Duke of Edinburgh himself. This experience was great for the recent 3 Peaks challenge I participated in to raise money for the Perrys charity.

Pundeep Dhillon
I joined Perrys as a Trainee Accountant, in the London offices, after graduating with a BSc Hons. in Mathematics combined with Business Management and Finance. I particularly enjoy working at Perrys as I am given the opportunity to develop myself by being involved in the accounts preparations for a wide range of clients. In my spare time I enjoy taking part in voluntary and charity work, spending time with family and friends and taking on new challenges. Currently I am looking forward to the challenge of studying towards the ACCA exams.

Mechelle Chipping
I am currently an Accountant in our City office, having come up from our Kent offices 18 months ago. I am qualified AAT and ACCA. Outside of work I enjoy reading, swimming, socialising with friends and spending time with my family, especially my nieces and nephews. Having recently become a member of a gym, I plan on spending a lot more of my time there soon too! Once qualified, my future plans are to renew my study of languages, having five years of German knowledge from my school days.

The office is headed by Stewart Pope (our firm’s inheritance tax specialist) and Allan Taylor (our firm’s FSA specialist) both of whom act for a wide range of clients across many industries and services, ranging in size from self-employed individuals to multi-national companies. Stewart and Allan are supported by an accomplished and expert team of individuals including Alex Skinner, Mechelle Rudland, Thomas Hall, Pundeep Dhillon and Jo Wederell. The City office is also responsible (across the firm) for assisting and auditing those clients that are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. The team at City has built a consistent reputation with clients of all sizes, hailing from all sectors, for delivering proactive accounting and taxation advice and tax savings at fees that represent exceptional value for money – especially when contrasted with the fees charged by the larger firms in the City. Our approach? To understand your business in such detail that we identify what can be done differently to minimise your tax liability.
As long established accountants in the City we attract many business and private clients from the Central London area and beyond – businesses and private individuals that need high levels of service, accountability and proactive advice from their accountant; businesses and individuals that are also looking for value driven fees.
Our client base is extremely diverse and this is something we enjoy and encourage. We work with businesses and organisations hailing from a large number of sectors including retail, hospitality, tourism, business to business, fashion, film and the media. Although there is no such thing as a typical Perrys’ City client, if you were to look closely at our client base you would see that many are Owner-Managed Businesses, usually with 2 to 3 directors and with an annual turnover of anything above £200,000. What unites each one of our clients is that they expect and receive a 5 star service from our team.
If you’re looking for a team with a huge wealth of experience, both at branch level and as part of a trusted and established brand, then it’s time for us to talk.
If you are contemplating moving from your existing accountant or you would like to benchmark current service and fee levels with what we can offer you why not book a complimentary meeting?
This provides an opportunity to have answered those questions that you have been storing up and to receive a wealth of detailed advice bespoke to your business and your situation. At this meeting, we’ll look at how we can potentially save you money – not simply by reducing your tax burden now, but by reviewing any capital gains and inheritance tax implications in the future. By way of example, we advised one client on how they could use their property capital allowances to maximum effect, and saved them a minimum of £20,000 in tax. We will provide you with a fixed fee quotation in which we itemise the cost of each piece of work with the option of benefiting from additional tax advice and any other services discussed at an agreed hourly rate.
The City office is also responsible for assisting and auditing clients across the firm who are regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
